I totally agree. Having been training pilots for most of my career, it is evident for me that it is the quality of the training and the skill of the trainee that counts. Making “holes in the sky” to accumulate flight hours does not improve your skill level 😉

Some are trying to present the 1,500-hour rule as choosing “Quality over quantity”, i.e. that allowing more pilots through, without the rule, risks their quality. In reality, this rule offers neither quantity NOR quality. Even worse, the actual effect of this rule on safety is probably the opposite of what we all want.
